One of the most interesting things to me when studying the Bible is examining how the Old Testament fits into the New Testament. Too many times I have caught myself in the mindset that the New Testament is more important than the Old Testament or that the Old Testament holds no value.

These feelings though, cannot be further from the truth. Throughout the Gospels Jesus reemphasizes the importance of the Old Testament and the place that it ought to take in everyday life. He even goes so far as to say in the Gospel of Matthew that He has not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it (Mt. 5:17).

One aspect that I have always found interesting in relation to the study of Christ and the Old Testament is the true and better principle articulated by Timothy Keller among others. Take a look at this video:

It is clear that studying and reading about Jesus through this Old Testament lens helps give greater and grander perspective to His Messianic status. Many have claimed to be the Messiah but only one is the fulfillment of all the Old Testament claims him to be.
